Hugo blog

Testing a new Hugo blog theme … Minimal.

I am a picky user of themes and have my fingers crossed that Minimal is a theme I can grow with. I started using Hugo a couple of years ago after I decided to drop WordPress for something simpler. For whatever reason, not having a database tied to the website is appealing to me. But the need for a framework remains and Hugo seems to do the trick. While I’m on a journey to learn python, programming skills, and lots of other computer science related skills, I have little desire at the moment to dig into the go language that is used to produce Hugo websites. (Not that it won’t be on the list to dig into at some later date.)

I’m excited and overall Minimal has a nice look. Hugo does a good job of rendering different snippets like LaTeX for mathematical formulas or Jupyter notebook codes for python programming work. I’ve also seen some fun things you can do like slideshows that would be interesting to explore in the future.

I decided to link my github account. There are several open courses that I’m working on and can use my repositories to store files for viewing. There’s an option to link to my stackoverflow account but since I am usually anonymously surfing for answers and not providing them, there seems to be of little point to have it. I also don’t know at this point if comments are ever going to be useful but that could change and can be turned on.

I’ve also include my email for anyone that interested in contacting me. I do check my emails!
